Tokyo International Quilt Festival 2015 Part I
The Tokyo International Quilt Festival 2015 was held at the Tokyo Dome. It was the first time for me to go to the show and the first time for me to go to Tokyo Dome. Some of them were amazing! Lots of applique, embroidery, and techniques other than just quilting.
Some had intricate stitching without colour.
Some were more traditional but had applique, buttons, and other trim.
Some were traditional but had intricate detail or personal touches. Others had amazing borders.
Some were old-fashioned crazy quilts.
Some were abstract landscape paintings.
Some were florals or a single flower.
Some used unusual materials, such as scarves.
Did you know Hawai’ian quilts could be used as a mural?
Amazing embroidery!
As you can see, many people were taking photos. The arena was packed with a 99% female crowd. You could barely move. Now you see the reasons why this show is so popular.
These are amazing. Thank you for taking the photos and sharing with us.
